In view of the measures taken to address COVID-19 (Corona Virus), the Republic of Malta and its Consulates are suspending all visa services as of 18 March 2020, until further notice. Visas will be issued only in extreme cases on humanitarian grounds or in the case of national interest or for the needs of health authorities.

Suspension of Client Service Office Services


The Public is being informed the in its efforts to take preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19, the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs is suspending its Legalisation and Visa Advisory services as from Monday 16th March 2020.


The service will remain suspended until further notice.​

In this regard, the Italian authorities may request that the traveller provides the attached form​ duly filled-in before access to certain zones is granted.
