Welcome to the Maltese High Commission website. The High Commission in Canberra and the Consulates-General in Melbourne and Sydney try to ensure that this site is a useful and helpful tool for both Maltese and Australians. Australia and Malta are bound by strong family ties, by links of kinship, friendship and by a common concern for prosperity, peace and security. Diplomatic relations with Australia were established on 21 September 1964. The political relations are excellent, while in the fields of law, education and culture the two countries share a common heritage and vision.

We have worked together for many years in multilateral institutions within the Commonwealth and the United Nations and we have cooperated in the various initiatives taken. We look forward to continuing this collaboration for many more years to come.
