Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1472 of 13 September 2021 amending Council Regulation (EC) No 1210/2003 concerning certain specific restrictions on economic and financial relations with Iraq

On 13 September 2021, the Commission decided to remove 28 entities, as had been decided by the Sanctions Committee of the United Nations Security Council on 8 September 2021, from the list of persons and entities to whom freezing of funds and economic resources should apply from Annex III to Regulation (EC) No 1210/2003.

The Council today decided to prolong the sanctions targeting those responsible for undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine for a further six months until 15 March 2022.

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1460 of 09 September 2021 amending for the 322nd time Council Regulation (EC) No 881/2002 imposing certain specific restrictive measures against certain persons and entities associated with the ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida organisations

On 09 September 2021, The European Commission amended Annex I to Regulation (EC) No 881/2002 to delete 1 entry found under the heading ‘Natural persons’.

Council Regulation (EU) 2021/1275 of 30 July 2021 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Lebanon and Council Decision (CFSP) 2021/1277 of 30 July 2021 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Lebanon and Council Decision (CFSP) 2021/1277 of 30 July 2021 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Lebanon

On 30 July 2021, the Council has adopted Decision (CFSP) 2021/1277, which establishes a framework for targeted restrictive measures to address the situation in Lebanon. The political context and the policy reasons for establishing the restrictive measures are set out in the recitals to that Decision. The Council Decision provides for the freezing of funds and economic resources of and the prohibition to make funds and economic resources available to natural persons responsible for grave financial, economic, social and political crisis in Lebanon and natural or legal persons, entities and bodies associated with them. The persons, entities and bodies subject to the restrictive measures are listed in the Annex to Decision (CFSP) 2021/1277.

Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1276 of 30 July 2021 implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1716 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Nicaragua and Council Decision (CFSP) 2021/1278 of 30 July 2021 amending Decision (CFSP) 2019/1720 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Nicaragua

On 30 July 2021, the Council decided that in view of the continuing grave situation in Nicaragua, eight persons should be included in the list of natural and legal persons, entities and bodies subject to restrictive measures set out in Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2019/1716.

Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1241 of 29 July 2021 implementing Article 21(2) of Regulation (EU) 2016/44 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Libya and repealing Regulation (EU) No 204/2011 and Council Decision (CFSP) 2021/1251 of 29 July 2021 amending Decision (CFSP) 2015/1333 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Libya

On 29 July 2021,the Council has concluded that the entry for one person should be deleted, as he is deceased, and that the restrictive measures against all other persons and entities in the list set out in Annex III to Regulation (EU) 2016/44 should be maintained. In addition, the identifying information for one person was updated.

Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1242 of 29 July 2021 implementing Regulation (EU) No 267/2012 concerning restrictive measures against Iran and Council Decision (CFSP) 2021/1252 of 29 July 2021 amending Decision 2010/413/CFSP concerning restrictive measures against Iran.

On 29 July2021, the Council decided  on the basis of a review of Annex II to Council Decision 2010/413/CFSP, that the restrictive measures against all persons and entities in the list set out therein should be maintained, in so far as their names are not mentioned in Annex VI to that Decision, and 21 entries included in Annex IX to Regulation (EU) No 267/2012 should be updated.

Annex IX to Regulation (EU) No 267/2012 is amended as follows:


(1)

under the heading ‘I. Persons and entities involved in nuclear or ballistic missile activities and persons and entities providing support to the Government of Iran.’, under the subheading ‘A. Persons’, the following entry is deleted: ‘25. Sayed Shamsuddin Borborudi’.

 

(2)

under the heading ‘I. Persons and entities involved in nuclear or ballistic missile activities and persons and entities providing support to the Government of Iran.’, the following entries replace the corresponding entries in the list set out under the subheading ‘A. Persons’:

Terrorism Regime

The Council today renewed the EU terrorist list, which sets out persons, groups and entities subject to restrictive measures with a view to combating terrorism. The 14 persons and 21 groups and entities on the list are subject to the freezing of their funds and other financial assets in the EU. It is also prohibited for EU operators to make funds and economic resources available to them.

The Council is empowered to establish the EU list and impose related restrictive measures under Council Common Position 2001/931/CFSP and Council Regulation (EC) No 2580/2001.

Ukraine Regime
Council Decision (CFSP) 2021/1144 of 12 July 2021 amending Decision 2014/512/CFSP concerning restrictive measures in view of Russia’s actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine.
