Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion Carmelo Abela inaugurates the travelling exhibition on the architecture of Romania, ‘A century of architecture in Romania’, at the Faculty for the Built Environment, University of Malta. This exhibition marks the establishment of Greater Romania since 1918 when after World War I, all the Romanian provinces scattered under previous empires were united within The Kingdom of Romania. It presents some of the relevant nation-building processes that local architecture encompassed until World War II, during the Communist Era and the transitional period-to-date.

Minister Carmelo Abela applauded those that worked on the excellent initiative and for accepting to include Malta in its itinerary and the University of Malta for hosting the exhibition.

“This exhibition is yet another affirmation of the excellent cultural relations between Malta and Romania. Although at the outset our countries might look different in terms of size and population, there is much more that unites us. Over the past years our ties have strengthened, both between governments and on the people-to-people level.”

This exhibition will remain open until the 17th of May, 2019.
