Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Evarist Bartolo had a phone call Sunday evening with Jan Kubis, the Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.

They spoke of the work that needs to be done by Libyan MPs so that Libya has a government that will lead the country to elections on December 24, 2021.

Both agreed on the importance that Libyans regain the fate of their country to have a united Libya and for the country’s riches to be enjoyed by all Libyans.

Both sides called on Libyan MPs to meet in a parliamentary sitting and in a spirit of national unity, give a vote of confidence to the government that will be appointed to lead Libya to the polls at end of this year.

Minister Bartolo recalled that his key message to Libyan politicians is that they need to unite so that yesterday's enemies become tomorrow’s partners in a peaceful Libya, and to work for the good of all Libyans who are suffering to this day.
