Ambassador Vanessa Frazier presents her credentials to the ISA Secretary-General

The new Permanent Representative of Malta to the International Seabed Authority (ISA), Ambassador Vanessa Frazier, presented her credentials to ISA Secretary-General Michael W. Lodge during a virtual ceremony today.

On receiving her credentials, Ambassador Frazier stressed Malta’s appreciation and commitment to the vital work of the ISA, remarking how: “The International Seabed Authority plays an important role in the protection of marine environments and promotion of ocean governance.”

Secretary-General Lodge said: “It is a great pleasure to welcome Ambassador Frazier amongst the ISA community and to acknowledge Malta’s support to the work of the Organization.”
Ambassador Frazier is the current Permanent Representative of Malta to the United Nations, where she is leading the country’s bid for a United Nations Security Council seat in 20023-2024. She served as Ambassador to Italy and San Marino previously, plus Belgium, Luxembourg and NATO before that.
Having joined Malta’s Diplomatic Service in 1992 after a Master’s degree in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Malta, Ambassador Frazier has also served in Washington DC and London, plus held senior posts in Malta including Defence Director.
