I welcome you to the website of the Embassy of the Republic of Malta to the United States of America.

The relations between the Republic of Malta and the United States of America are excellent – relations that are well rooted into history.  The first interaction between our two countries started in fact at the very beginning of America, at the time of the Knights of Malta when several well-trained Maltese seamen contributed towards the struggles of the independence of the American colonies.  Since then our bi-lateral relations have come a long way and cooperation is at every level including political, social, economic and cultural.

The core objective of the Embassy of Malta in Washington D.C. is to continue building on these relations, to strengthen and develop them further. To this end, the embassy seeks to explain and promote the foreign policy objectives of Malta through political and cultural events which are organised from time to time in Washington and elsewhere in the USA.

The Embassy provides also full consular services including the processing of Schengen visa applications.  A detailed explanation of these services is available on this website.

This Embassy serves also as:
  • High Commission of the Republic of Malta to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas
  • High Commission of the Republic of Malta to Canada

This website provides information about the Embassy’s ongoing activities and initiatives. It also seeks to serve as a link between Malta and the Maltese community in the U.S.A.
